The story of Radegonda

Radegonda Oberto, daughter of Pietro and Giulia Oberto and my great grandmother, was born in La Morra on 2nd January 1904. She spent her childhood in the house which is now the Corte Gondina hotel, named in her memory.

Radegonda devoted her entire life to teaching and was awarded a gold medal after a 40-year long career. Unmarried, she has always lived in this house, along with her seven sisters and one brother, surrounded by friends, relatives and many nieces and nephews, until her passing in 1996.
We opened the hotel in 2002, myself (Radegonda’s great granddaughter) and my husband Bruno, after an extensive 2 year renovation.
